He has competed at many Provincial and National championships during his career as a PGA of Canada Professional, and continues to compete in Ontario PGA and PGA of Canada events whenever possible. His expertise in instruction ranges from beginners and juniors to local amateurs, club level players, professionals, and World Long Drive hitters. Both programs captured many tournament titles and the men’s program was a perennial top 4 ranked team in the province under his direction. It is at the U of G where he and the Honsberger team began working together and started to combine golf coaching with body coaching. They continued to hone their craft and partnered together in April 2021 when Brandon opened the AIM Golf Academy at Royal Ashburn. In December of 2022 AIM moved from Royal Ashburn into the Honsberger Physio+ when they built a Golf Lab so they can continue to push golf instruction and biomechanics in golf to another level.
Dan Hilborn
Osteopathic Manual Practitioner,
Certified Athletic Therapist
Level 2 Medical TPI Certified
Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in 2010 from Western University, my Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) from Sheridan College in 2014, followed by a diploma as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner in 2017 from the National Academy of Osteopathy. Dan has also completed the Titleist Performance Institute program and is a Level 1 coach. Throughout his career he has spent time working with Team Canada Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays, along with a long list of junior, amateur, and elite level golfers. From his experience working with golfers, he has found that the best method to make permanent changes to our golf swing involves a team approach that includes a swing coach and a body coach. The vast majority of golfers have a biomechanical body dysfunction that is limiting their ability to make an efficient, consistent, and powerful golf swing. If our body is incapable of making an efficient swing we need to correct the body dysfunction first by improving flexibility, joint range of motion, and strength. Once this is corrected the swing coach takes over to improve specific swing mechanics. Through Dan’s experience this team approach leads to better shot consistency, more distance, and less pain while golfing.
